Hi,
Maybe an idiot question?
I have been told that the home page of my website should be called "index". Is that right? Why?
Thanks

From what I understand, when you access a site by typing in only the domain name (www.talkgraphics.com), your browser looks at the root directory and loads the 'index' page. The index page being the page that has the list of what's on your site. I think this is a historical thing.
I think, it also depends upon the servers that host your web site. Some need the first page to be 'default' rather than 'index'.
Then depending upon other things, it may need to be index.php rather than index.htm
Good isn't it?!
I'm sure the real Xperts will soon give you an accurate answer.

Thanks, Rik.
I'll call it "index" for now.
Just to be clear
The page needs to be index.htm
Not just index

Xara automatically adds the HTM extension Rik when you publish the site.
