everyone is using textures which still gives a rather constant distribution. you need to use brushes to give truely random feel. look at an reall orange before you even start - not what you thing an orange looks like your your mind - then you might have a chance.

all the dints are random as hell and not some testure. also if you didn't just draw circles it would look like an orange. when was the last time you saw a perfectly square orange - exactly.

mine to follow in couple of days.

    i'm cheeky aint i?

Here is a modified orange circle with an eliptical fill, then a fractal cloud overlay.
{Note the orange spottiness around the periphery are artifacts introduced when converted to a jpeg. -Andrew

    Hello,
I took a sample from the orange in your picture and made it bigger and brightened it in PSP
This was the result which I saved as a png file:-

I loaded the file into Xaras Fill Gallery and used it like this:

    Hope this comes out OK

The texture for the orange is Glass from the Miscellaneous fills forder. It has a very good orange peel texture. (I'm afraid it's downhill from there. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I love those canned oranges without any trace of peel. In yummy syrup. (This is where you picture me drooling like Homer Simpson).
