    Larry,

Ice 2 returns a semitransparent background with Xara as a host. That doesn't happen from Photoshop. Ice 1.03 doesn't.

Ice 2 has a true screen view, and 1.03 is just guessing.

Thanks Rich, I searched my system and could not find the preveous version. I have ice 2 but it does not work, and there does not seem to be any way of getting it again or v 1.03 either. I have photoshop elements 8, I'll try it there.

    Larry,

They would send a download link. You would install with the name you used to license along with the serial number, and then activate to program. My guess is that you would not be able to activate the program since they seem to have disappeared.

I did a web search, and it appears the program is still available.

You are right there Rich. No matter what I do it just won't work. The installer doesn't work either. So I may as well pitch them.

It appeared that the lite versions were available. Free for personal use. They are limited to 800 pixel images. I don't think you can set presets.

I was using about 2000 pixel PNG image. With a PNG it is easy to make a mask, and remove the background.

Actually, I do things that are exceptionally simple. I never could draw objects to color and shade. So, things may appear complex, but are very easy. Some drawings are tedious, but Xara makes it simple to draw. I make my own resources, especially environments. Probably thousands over the years. I tried to learn how to design to create an effect, but in the end just made things and tried them. Because I color with environments, I have something like a palette with all the colors. I may have a thousand loaded. Guess I'm talented in making easy things appear difficult. I only use the drawings to test the environments. Rich

Rich I searched for ice on the web and found ice 2 lite on OK but the setup has expired. So still no go. That is the same problem I have run into numerous times.

You might try thepluginsite.com for 1.03

As far as I know they just disappeared one day. I think the later versions required activation. Been some time, though.

They may have removed it altogether.
