Default Odd failure in generated nav bars

    Hi,

    http://aggiezed.com/test/paintings.htm

The orange square nav bars on the page above are made up of blank squares, and depend on tooltip rollovers to identify the link. That is, there is no visible text (there is a hidden letter "i" to the left of each square, which was necessary to make the nav bar creator work.) The nav bars are horizontal.

This works fine until you click on a square in the first 4 columns. Then the rollovers stop appearing for squares in the last column. if you click on the background, or on a square in the last column, then all the rollovers start to work again. The fail is consistent across IE, FF and Chrome in W7, and the same type of nav scheme on the "scupture" page also has the problem.

    I've tried:
    • moving the text element
    • adding space between the links using the "button spacing" box in the nav bar generator dialog
    • enlarging the gra

    phics

Any ideas? (That don't involve a new layer for each button...)

The xar file is 35.5MB's, but I'm happy to ship it to you if that will help.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have moved your post to the Xara Web Design Chat forum where you will find more users that work with web design and nav bars.

    Hi Mark

We might to see that file. Make a copy of your WEB/XAR file and delete any pages other than those related to "pictures.htm" and upload that. It should hopefully be less than the 10MB limit.

You have an invisible box (transparent colour and no line width) on many of your layers.

Set Windows > Quality to lowest setting to see them.

Well, gosh, I feel dumb... Never occurred to me that after all the futzing around I did to get this to work that I might'a left some bit of junk behind.
Anyway, Thanks so much for pointing that out!
