I'm completely stumped. I know I should know this font or fonts, but I have had no luck on line.

Hi Gary--the closest I could get really quickly was:
http://www.ffonts.net/CaslonSwashSCapsSSK-Italic.font
Take care, Mike
That was my first thought but the swash S is very different and the A does not have a serif on top.
I am wondering if this was hand lettered. It has been around for some time. It has a Herb Lubalin feel to it somehow.

I am wondering if perhaps they used two different fonts? The caps look like Adobe Caslon Swash to me but the lowercase is definitely not. The lower case could be robusta Bold Italic
Edit: I see that the Caslon swash is not quite the same perhaps it has been graphically altered?

Autocorrect: It can be your worst enema.
Interestingly enough, the client had a "corrupt" EPS file with the logo. Several persons who have Illustrator had tried to open the file and could not.
I dragged and dropped the file into Designer Pro 7 and after a warning that the file type might not be what I was expecting, voila! the file opened perfectly. I looked at the logo with the Shape Tool and and the control points were expertly placed.

And the font for the italic letters is http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstre...-no-20/italic/
It's amazing what a high res image will do!
