I have no idea. She's certainly up to no good.
Yeah, that's what I thought when I saw the bloody knife in her hand and part of an infant face down in a basin on the right.
Not sure if that is another hapless baby in her lap.

The painting appears here - http://soria-goig.com/historia/pedro...plandor_14.htm - which I think is about witches but I can't see details ... think it's just illustrating
That basin is a cooking pot

I did try google, but ended up on a site describing medieval torture.. ..nasty (to put it mildly).
That link leads to a page that Chrome translates and I think it's to do with the Inquisition

Thank you all for the help so far, I still can't find anything except that a band named deadbodieseverywhere has used it as their cover art. From my limited knowledge of art I would have to guess that it the virgin Mary based on the colours she's wearing and the baby who would be Jesus.

Definitely not - she's a witch cutting up babies and cooking them.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
At first look I thought Hogarth ... you know, one of those "look this is where drink gets you" prints. It seems to be a detail from a larger piece.
