This is a drawing I started a few months ago. Works a bit slack lately so I spent some time finishing her off.

I based the vector drawing on my brothers, brother in laws original painting. His name is Arthur Hudson and is an extremely talented marine artist. Here is his original oil painting.

Very nice Eric ... a wonderful illustration of your brother's brother-in-laws painting. You must have spent a great deal of time on it. I can't help but notice the incredible water in your BBIL's painting. Have you noticed that the line of the waves transects the entire width of the painting? That really goes a long way in giving size and scope to the waves.

    Thanks for sharing!

Excellent work, Eric! Ship, water, and sky are all outstanding.

    Cheers Ed.
Sure did. However trying to recreate that effect in vector is very difficult. I did try but came a very poor second.

    Cheers Bill.
The ship wasn't a great problem, the sea & sky gave me a lot of problems (not my usual drawing techniques).

Really excellent! I like the whole image, but really am impressed with the water.

    Egg,

You are the master of small details... Your patience, persistance and technical know-how is also admired.

    Looks great!
