    Default Downloadting templates

    Hi,

    Just a quick question.

My download for the `content pack` crashes.

    it crashed at 74%.

I was trying to import a button and it suggested downloading the templates from the help download bar.

    I have contacted support.

I dont want to lose the weekend if necessary, so any advice.

    XDP7 latest upgrade done too.

    Hi GanAnim,

If you look in your Documents folder you should see a subfolder named MAGIX Downloads/Installationsmanager.

Within that folder you should see a file that contains the word content, something like Xara_Designer_Pro_7_content
That should be a partial file left after the download crashed. If you delete that file you should be able to start the download again using the Help menu.

    Well, that was interesting.
It deleted the whole XDP7 application.

So, I then reinstalled, re updated and then began to try and download the content pack. Same problme 0%, as though the link is not there. it looks busy....but nothing happens.
So, my support ticket is in. Put my feet up I guess.

I`ll let you know what happens.

Update, It`s now the 2nd reinstall. I have decided to try and install the content pack BEFORE I update the program.

..and its loading...so, fingers crossed. Then I will see if the update program will download the content pack.

I noticed that when I did an uninstall that the MAGIX folder you talked about in the docs folder did not delete.

I deleted that seperartely before reinstalling the trial and then re registering.

The program locks up too when that download is running. Even on closing the program loses connectivitiy.

Oh, and yes firewall is disabled.

    Hope that sorts it.
    I will get back with a ` job done` shortly I`m hoping.

The program will not let me delete those installation files as they are being usedd by another program.

Lets try for a re re re install. and go for the magix upgrade content pack first before the magix panorama installation.
I suppose its trial and error or experiental learning.

If I upgrade to the October version do I lose all the content pack and have to reinstall again though.

    Well we will see.

GanAnim you should not need to reinstall the program.

Simply delete one file within the MAGIX downloads/installationsmanager folder, not the entire folder. The filename will have the word content within it.

Soquili has the right answer, but to absolutely clarify, this is the folder path to where you should be looking in My Documents\MAGIX Downloads\installationsmanager

    Yes, you are both correct.

However, it does not let you delete it because it says. try again. this file is in use...

So, I did reinstall and had to use a `custom` reinstall` which deleted some ` old files- no doubt the files that were preventing me from updating. Some critical errors were noted originally.

I sent the cpn file to support anyway.

So, once the content pack did load, it then presents with a repair or remove screen.
I click repair and it installs the templates.

Now, Im going for the October upgrade to see what happens.

    wishe me luck.
