    Default Another lovely, clean website

I just found this website whilst researching something for a client:

    http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors

Is this not a perfect example of a beautifully clean, visually interesting and, above all, usable website?

It would be simple to design such a site using Xara's perfect design tools.

If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.

I'm not blown away by the design but it is very clean and well laid out.

I think the illustration across the top comes off a bit sophomoric, but that might just be me.

perhaps i was gilding the lily a little but i do believe that light, well-adjusted colours, white space, a clean design, clear and consistent navigation and unimposing but original graphics make for the perfect environment to be swayed by engaging and relevant content - it's a terribly hard balance to find given that most of us who do this for a living have little control over the content and in many cases bang our heads against the wall with clients who are blind to the elegance of simplicity

    Hi,
Yes, I agree that it's a nice website (from the minute I spent examining it).
Potential recommendation would be to enliven it with some actibvity - particularly in the grpahs and such. Easy to do in Xara (as you mentioned), and you can make the whole experience much more interactive and dynamic. Otherwise, I don't know if folks will stick around....

I like the design, but the pastels, lovely as they are, are making me yearn for a bit more contrast and definition.

I did stick around, but that's because the information it contained was 100% relevant to my research - which I guess proves the SEO linchpin: content is king

What is it about old out of date topics you find so attractive?
