Outlines missing.

Hi there, everyone,
I can't understand what's happened. Usually when I view anything in outline all the outlines are there. But now I have two solid shapes with no stroke and they aren't visible in outline mode. Three other shapes, also with no stroke, are fine... All on the same document.
Any suggestions?

I suppose it is possible that the objects are very large [ie: they have a transparent background component] and you have to zoom out to see the outline

Or the objects are bitmaps in which case all you will see is the rectangle that represents the size of the bitmap.

Hi there, thanks for your thoughts. The two vector outlines are not big... contained within a 131px square which IS visible. It's weird, I can't work on them in outline at all.
If I copy everything and paste it into a new document the same thing happens.

I remember this issue in some of the older versions. I don't recall now what was the cause of some vector objects not showing in outline view nor do I recall the corrective action. Getting older and more foregetful.

any chance you could post an example xar file - it may be a [screen] rendering issue

Some time ago I sent a bug report to xara according to wire view, there are at least two situations that cause this simptom.

1st. Create a shape
2nd. Fill with no color
3th. Select linear transparencie
4th. Fill with any color
5th. set line to no color
6th. Set quality view to wire (lowest quality)
Shape isn't showed

OR

To reproduce from scratch:
* New doc
* Go to freehand tool
* Select a stroke shape such as ellipse
* Draw a closed shape
* Change to outline mode.

May be it could be your case

Thanks so much for your help everyone, I've finally figured it out!

For this to to the to happen:
Make a shape with no fill and give it a line width - I used a stroke width of 2.
Go to the line gallery and select any of the line options - like 'concave 2'.
Look in outline mode and the line is visible.
But... set the stroke to 'none' and it becomes invisible.

To see the line again, just click on 'normal' in the line gallery box.

I'm using Designer Pro 6 and a 64bit system

Can anyone else reproduce this or is it just me? lol
