Lightbulb Requesting Script language for Xara

    Dear Xara,

Please consider in a future enhancement to this platform,
add a scripting language to XARA.

My vote goes to this simple and powerful scripting language:
    http://www.runrev.com/products/livec...evel-language/
    Runrev is based in Edinburgh.

    From this page:
Livecode is an English-like, very high level programming language.
It is far easier to learn and use than traditional lower level languages.

Placeholder objects are a good way to introduce scripts to Xara. If you are not familiar with this, in the Help > Index section, look for Placeholder Objects.

I think the whole thrust of Xara website development products is simplicity and intuitive layout and website creation.

I wonder if you thought about web standards like PHP and ISP's that don't support anything else than PHP.

Supporting such foreign language wich also is commercial (forcing everybody who uses Xara to buy a license).. I think not a good idea.

I would vote for PHP with debugger features in Xara and make the inserted PHP blocks visible.

teonieuwlande I believe capellan is asking for scripting within Xara's application rather than web browser/server scripting like Javascript/PHP.

Over the paste 11+ years there have been many requests for the ability to write scripts that perform repetative tasks within Xara's graphic and web applications.

Yes.. Indeed. With scripting I wonder what the purpose would be. If it is some kind of recorder for mousemoves and keydowns, I know of some small tools that can do such.
    Sorry Capellan for my misreading.
