You're not putting index_htm_files as the sub folder are you by any chance? It's been done before :-)

No,
can I just ftp every file and folder as is to my site
There is a problem with the 7.1 update and it will not upload to your website with the usual settings.
See my previous post to find a temporary fix until Xara fixes Web Designer.

If your web host is the same as mine, you need to put /www/www/ in the sub-folder box of the Publish tab of Web Properties even though you do not use a sub folder.

Has Xara told you there's a problem? Just tested two of mine and they uploaded with no problems

My bad! First tried with DP7 - no probs - but WD7 does do strange things. Sorry to confuse the issue

That did not work for me I tried the following
/www/www/
/www/
/
./
I even tried unchecking the upload only changed files
nothing and you can't redownload it and just not install the patch they have already
incorporated it to the current download
Just an idea to try. Download the free Fizalla ftp program and log into your web site using Filezilla. Look at the directory structure listed in the upper right panel titled Remote site: and put that file structure in your Xara web properties, publish, Sub-folder area. Your site's directory structure must be different than mine, but whatever it is, plug that in as a sub-directory.
Yes, I realize that you are not using a sub-directory, neither am I, but in order to fix the glitch in update 7.1, I had to put /www/www/ as a sub directory.
In the attached photo, a screen capture of Filezilla, you can see that /www/www is listed after Remote Site: when I expand the folders until I find the index_htm_files that Xara uploaded via Web Designer 7.0.
I had nothing listed as a sub-folder using WebDesigner 7.0 and my site published, but now I have to list /www/www/ as a sub directory after updating Web Designer to ver 7.1 or I get this error from Xara, /index_htm_files: No such file or directory
I have several sites and the same problem happened in each one after the 7.1 update.

A registry fix works.
**USUAL CAVEATS ABOUT CHANGING THE REGISTRY APPLY!**
change the FTPConnectionType to '1' -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\WebDesignerPremium \7.1\Options\Publish
-This seems to have fixed the error.
1 = Active (as opposed to the default being '2' = Passive)
