Hey, unless I'm mistaken, all this posting your photo jazz is voluntary, and really doesn't need an explanation, does it? People want to see pictures of other members because they're curious, that's all. If you want to stalk someone, or you're clinically lonely, go look at photos on Facebook.

Signal to noise has dropped below 1 here, I think.

    well....yes

however the OP [who is in charge of the direction of the thread as much as anyone] made a couple of statements

    - and picking up on the second, many of us have more than one life, and it will be far sooner than the 22nd century when some discover to their cost that the permanence of the internet means one life coming back and biting them hard in the butt in another, no matter how innocent it seemed at the time - not paranoia, common sense

I can understand the need to be concerned about what you information you share with others online, but a single, innocent photo placed in a forum of artists is going to derail your offline life at some point down the road?!? Really?? Okay Chicken Little.

It wasn't a dare, it was merely my statement of opinion. Nice attempt at deflection, though.

Some people will and some won't.
Some have fears and some don't.
Who's right and who's wrong - nobody knows.

So, why not make an individual decision?

Have a Rogue's Gallery and those who want to put their picture on it, can do so, and those who don't... Well, those people are still as welcome on TG as any who have put up their pictures.

I personally don't have any problems but that's only my opinion.
Everyone else will have their own opinions and decisions.

    Peace to all.

I for one am curious what the other members look like not that it makes any difference but I am curious none the less, and because of that I don't mind posting my photo.

Angelize had started a thread on XU called "meet me in the garden" http://board.xara-users.info/viewtop...e+garden#p6973 I thought it was a clever idea but there were not many takers.

I posted my photo and nobody made fun of me. Now that is upsetting!
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.

That's because of the forum etiquette policy.
