Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
I remember the days of drawing over an image with a black pen and scanning the image. Then performing a trace to vector. I ended up with tens of thousands of vectors. I could watch the lines being drawn on screen. Trying to align things was impossible. Drawing the cells is somewhat tedious, but worth the effort.
