The End of The World - I missed it!

We got hit by a nasty storm and a near lightning strike, which set off the smoke alarm,
fried the modem, fried my network card, and I lost my telephone service.
Was that the end of the world event? I guess not since I didn't fill my underware which would have indeed been catastrophic.
Finally this computer is up and running as of about 10 pm yesterday. Other then the end of the world, did I miss anything else?

Well for one you missed a lot of darned good deals on real estate, the yard sales a couple of weeks ago were kickin', and I heard job openings jumped by 10% in less than 24 hours. Weird....
