Hi Ross ... I didn't know you could do that in sketchup ... cool!
Thanks Ron & Ed
The new version of SketchUp (Version4) allows scripts written in ruby to work inside the program. Luckily some of the users are accomplished programmers and in just several days there have been a number of interesting scripts written & shared via a forum. For the image above I used a script that spirals a selection.
You know if Xara Ltd. would include similar scripting capability we'd be able to have things like turning a text selection into instant gel-text... Something to think about.
Regards, Ross
Very springy Ross,
I like it!

Thanks John!
Bill - I knew you'd like it! Alas you'd probably like it more if it were red & boiling! (How did your town get its name?)
Regards, Ross
Ross, there are hot springs and mineral springs here. Some are both, there are a few where the minerals have given the water a red colour. I guess Red Boiling Springs sounded better than Yellow Boiling Springs or Green Boiling Springs

Really cool combination of tools there, Ross! I wonder what it would look like without the black outline, and more contrast in colour?
