Since a couple days something odd happens whenever I fill an object with gradient colors.

As I drag I can't see the fill path at all. Still the result is there.

More of an inconvenience than a real problem. Still, I'd like to fix it. Solutions anyone?

Weren't you having trouble with the Toolbar disappearing a few days ago? Maybe the Toolbar took the fill path arrow with it?

I can't figure out what happened. But with the object selected with the Selector Tool and not the Fill Tool, press the 3rd icon from the left on the Infobar, it looks like the pouring paint can (Show Edit Handles), and see if that helps.

This button allows you to edit the fill of an object when the object is selected with the Selector Tool.

    Gary,

I pushed the show fill edit handles on the Selector tool INFOBAR: no change.

The result is OK, I see the fill path arrows at the end of the filling process, but not while I drag its end box.

What I see is I think similar. As I drag a linear fill I don't see the 'arrow' until I stop moving the cursor and then it appears. I'm not so sure this isn't the way it has always been?? Same thing happens when applying a linear transparency.

Is this tip that Kate Moir passed on some months ago the answer your question?

"When dragging a linear (or other) fill press tab. Fill will then follow cursor instead of waiting until you stop the drag. Also fill arrow only shows when you stop dragging."

Do it again and the arrow is back.

I think you are right on the money, Don.

As I remember you could not see the fill path arrow until you were finished but you can modify the fill by just dragging the Fill Tool around. Made me woozy and I disabled the feature and prompty forgot about it.

Since a couple days it behaved exactly like Ross described. I pushed TAB as Don suggested and everything was like before. TAB toggles the visibiliy of the fill path arrow.

I must have toggled mine off unintentionally too!

Hey Don - thanks for that post reply- I've just upgraded to XaraX1 and after I found my fiull path wasnt there while dragging handles I was scatching my brain trying to remember if I saw the fill path in XaraX (pretty sure I did but age plays tricks!!). Anyway - problem solved and I'm now happy again http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
