    Default Nav button problem

I have 9 pages and 9 nav buttons. When I click on the first two pages it goes to the pages and all is perfect.

On the next 7 pages when I click on a page it goes to the page but when it gets there the flyout on the nav bar does not go away - it stays sticking out.

Yesterday when I first made the nav bars up they all worked perfect - gremlins!

Suggestions on how to fix problem?

Hmm? Does this still happen if you close the program and reopen it?

Sometimes there is a phantom image that is retained and not really there.

    Try Shift + Ctrl + T

I closed it, re-saved it - - even went to the backup files and pulled one of those up. Still have the problem.

I built the site using one of the template web sites. It has 8 pages. I replaced the nav bar across the top with one from the templates, placed on the side and deleted the original top nav bar.

When I ran the mouse over a nav bar a flyout of a slightly different color come out to the right. When I moved the mouse it goes away. When I click on the top two buttons it went to the proper page and the fly went away. When I clicked on the other 7 buttons it went to the proper page but the flyout stay out.

So I started all over, re-built the site using the same web template, same everything. Now when I am on a page the flyout of that page is out all the time. When I click on a page I go to the correct page but the flyout stays out.

As far as I know I have done nothing different building the two sites.

    Gremlins!

Anyone know how to shoot gremlins? Or how to solve the problem? - jb

Edit - the theme I am using is the ex-associate 2 theme.

I just loaded that one up and preview AS IS - no changes. The navbar for that site is across the top and is dark. The page you are on turns the button for that page green and is right on top of the black nav button.

On my site, which I put the nav bar to the right side and vertical and deleted the top nav bar, the button for the page you are on and when you move mouse over button has a flyout that changes color and comes out to the side. Seems like what is happening is that the button is going to the next layer but the layer is not positioning right over the first layer but to the side of it.

Must be a way to fix that - suggestions? - tks all - jb

I cannot really help you as I am also a beginner.

    But ...
I had a very similar problem.
It turned out I had been clicking in the layers view on the red eyes etc. whilst I was working with the nav bar.
I also had problems grouping buttons and it turns mout you cannot group them - have to soft group them.

I had all my text in a word document and restarted from scratch - now works ok and I stay well away from layer view.

This may or may not help you.

Problem solved - and I am not sure why.

I did go into the edit nav bars and change the justification from "top" to "center". Previewed and it works perfect. What was strange was that at one point in trying to solve the problem I had the first two nav bars work perfect and the next ones kept the flyout bar out to the right - seems that they should all have been one way or the other but, hey, I'm happy now.

Tks, all, for the help. - jb
