What is Origin setting for in Page Properties.

What is Origin setting for in Page Properties.
My instinkt would be to set it to 0,0 but for a theme project Xara sets it to 0,700.

What is its function and what is implication settign it to 0,0?

The Origin settings (Page Options > Grid and Ruler > Origin (0,0 point) determines the coordinates at which the rulers start measuring.

You can manually drag the Drag 0,0 Point + icon to reset the rulers. This is helpful if you are working on an object on the page and you want to get a precise measurement starting with 0, 0.

I suspect the template you are looking at has had this done and then it was saved with these coordinates.

Not sure I understand.

It's the coordinates in the Page settings (Grid and Ruler TAB) I am uncertain about.

The default state of a document in the program is to have the origin at the bottom left of the page and the Y increasing as you go up the page. However, web pages have their own idea about this and all of the coordinates used in the HTML have the origin at the top left of the page with Y increasing as you go down the page. So, for web documents in Xara products, the origin is set so that it appears to be at the top left and the option below it is changed so that Y increases as you go down the page.
