how to add color swatch to color bar?

how do you add a color swatch to the color bar for using later?

Open the colour editor - create the colour, then give it a name (press the tag icon)
Make sure your have disabled 'Delete unused colors when saving and loading' in Options>>View [tab]

well i did try that. but, its not adding the swatch.

As Steve said you need to make sure that the check mark is cleared from "delete unused colours when saving and loading" I can't make it not work.

Open the Colour Gallery (F9) and make sure you have your document name set to show on the colour line.
If you haven't saved/named your document yet, it will show as 'Untitled1'

Your new named colour swatch will show on the colour-line.
