Just took advantage of upgrade offer

Now im Xara Designer PRO! user.

Is there any preview of the printed manual?

We who upgraded will not get printed version

I prefer printed version over digital but would like to see it..

I don't think so - though this is what the Xtreme Pro 5 manual looks like

You get the manual, if you are upgarding from non pro version of Xtreme, but not from pro version.
When I ordered, I selected upgrade from non pro even though I have the pro version of Xtreme 5 (I upgarded to pro 5 from non pro so have both versions) this way I hope to get the new manual.

Okay I am losing my mind here.
You have to pay far less to become a PRO user AND you get a manual?

Call me old fashioned, but a printed manual is nice for reading while waiting like at the doctors office, on the train,etc...

OTOH, NOT having the printed manual gives me an excuse to get a nice little netbook! ;-)

Yeah I'd like to get a new manual myself. The one I have now is for 3.2 or earlier (I can't check, it's still boxed up from a recent move), and then I think I got a supplement with the upgrade to Pro 4, with Pro 5 having only a PDF.

I like my manuals both ways. When I'm sitting at the computer working and I want to find something I like to use help or a PDF manual. Sometimes I just want to sit in the comfy chair and browse through to remind myself of features I've forgotten (yes, I'm very weird like that. I also enjoy reading technical books and API specifications).

I imagine printing the manuals is costly and that's why they don't just hand them out like candy to upgraders, but it would be nice if they looked at their records and noticed that the last time they gave you a manual was years ago and squeaked one out for you to keep you up to date. I'm sure quite a lot of stuff has changed since 3.2.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to upgrade or not, but I'd really like the option to tack on a manual for an extra $10 or something just to have things up to date. $30 seems a bit too much (this assumes that I try to upgrade using whatever version of Xtreme existed before it went Pro).

Great, thank you gary. I would love to see more video tutorials on the new features. By any chance your tutorials can become video, this would really help. They can also be used on the main xara site.
