I want to do some headers with a text effect like the one show in the attached example. What is the best way to do this?

Draw a rectangle and type your text over it.
Select all and Arrange Menu>Combine Shapes>Subtract Shapes (or Ctrl + 2)
Draw another rectangle over the text making it the colour that you want your text to be.
Send this rectangle back one step (Shift + Ctrl + B)
Select the shadow tool and create a wall shadow on the original rectangle.
Saludos,
Bob.

Hi Fuss.
We are suppose to attach JPGs so that everyone can see what has been posted.
I keep forgetting.
If you look carefully, Steve has edited my post and it's Steve who attached the jpg for me.
Do you know the name of the script type font in your original example?

Rik, and anyone else who's interested, the font is Susa (Bold).
BONUS: Here's a link to the original tutorial, entitled Creating Editable Letterpress Styled Text from Vectips, that details how to create this effect in Adobe Illustrator CS4.

Illustrator has a lot of effects similar to layer styles in photoshop to build this kind of stuff. Xara is more limited in that regard but it doesn´t mean we can´t get there...
