Hi,
I have webdesigner 6 now and run Windows 7 Premium, I noticed that there is a new 'Directory called Masters' on the drive. Is that a Web designer directory? If so what is it's purpose?

Sounds like a Golf game title to me
Nothing like that installed here Jim
Just wondering as it wasn't there before I installed Designer? and Web designer knew it was there LOL
JimM
Can you explain "Web designer knew it was there" please?
Also, where exactly is the folder located relative to C:\ please
When I went to File> open it automatically list that empty directory, that is why I assumed it was setup by Web Designer...could be just a coincidence..
JimM
Jim, where exactly is the folder located relative to C:\
I saw this, too, but it's odd. I have two sites under development in XXP5 that I opened in XWD6 and re-saved as web files. In one of the cases XWD6 created a Masters folder in the same location as the web file when I exported, but put nothing in it. In the other case XWD6 did not create the Masters folder.

Thanks Spinny, always good to get fuller information about oddities
I've never noticed this, maybe because I've not exported any site from WD6 which has cached items such as a .swf
Previous versions would create a cache folder using the name applied to the saved .web/ .xar file.
I'm sure John will explain the full intended use of a Master folder.
Mine was located in...User ... /Public/Pictures folder but I exported the files to a 650 gB usb drive ... where I keep sites created in my programs..

Well, I tested my theory - not right. WD still creates the same cache folder as before based on the name of the .web file
Example:
myfile.web will create a cache folder named myfile_web_files
So even though I have no such folder on my system, I am not clear about the purpose either Jim
