    Default Xara Xtreme to PSD

    Hello

I am active on a forum where you can sell layouts for point. Anyway, always when I create a layout in XX, they want it in a multi layered .PSD file. I saw Xara has an export option but when I do that there is still one layer. Can someone please help me?

    Thanks,
    Riemer

To have layers in an exported psd file you must have them within your Xtreme document as well.

The attached .xar file was used to export to the attached .psd file.

The Yellow Star is on Layer 1 in both files.
The Red Circle in on Layer 2 in both files.
The Blue Rectangle is on Layer 3 in both files.

make sure your layers are visible or they may not save... [same as you would with photoshop itsef]

Thanks it works. But is it possible in Xara that Xara automatically puts a new rectangle on a new layer?

The only way to have a new rectangle on a new layer is to copy a layer that already has a rectangle.

And, if you use transparency, only use Mix, Bleach, and Stained Glass.

I really want this too. I also sell designs (psd) where each object need to be on separate layers. I often find myself spending more time creating layers for each object than I do on the design itself.

Would be nice to right click an object and then have the option to create and place this object on a new layer.

I may have submitted this to Dear Xara or somewhere else before. If I have a apologize for the repeat.

Well, I don't want that - I want Xara to preserve the layers I have made in Xara when it exports to PSD. I only used it for the first time a few weeks ago and I was amazed at how good it is [sometimes]. A few things didn't come across at all [text on a path] but a paragraph of text came over as an editable text object in Photoshop, which is a bonus I never expected. Just make sure you don't have drop-shadows or anythign on the text, or it will turn it in to a bitmap.

That's a raster or paint program thing. XDP is a vector or drawing app. Different animal. Seems to me that implementing a new object = new layer paradigm in XDP would make hash out of the very powerful and flexible layer capabilities we have now.

Wonder if it's possible to write the PSD export filter so it could put every object on a separate layer.
