Default Is there a way to "pin" something to a page?

I know how to use "group", but there are times when I want to move something and it grabs part of the background instead. Is there a way I can "pin" the background colors/objects down so I don't grab them by mistake?

I hate the fact that you have to ungroup an object in order to make changes to it, so I try to group my objects individually and move them around on top of the background, but then it grabs background objects instead.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
If your background is a shape right click and u should see a list of options .."lock object".. lock all objcts, this keeps the object from being selected.

Also, you don't have to ungroup to edit objects. If you hold Control when you click, you can select objects inside groups and modify them without having to ungroup first.
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

Also if you put your background on its own layer, you can lock that layer from editing in the Objects gallery. There are usually several ways to do things in Xara.
