Transparent GIF's

I am trying to create a banner with part of it transparent in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 but I can't get any part to show up as transparent. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

a Gif does not support transparency What It does Is defines one and only one colour as not to be painted.
Hence no partial transparency. Png on the other hand does support both full and Particle transparency but prior to IE 7 It was not properly integrated in to Explorer, but did work with the Mozelle based browsers(firefox). It work's fine in IE 7 and 8.
