That would be beyond the capabilities of extreme(pro) and xwd.

You could password protect a directory with the .htaccess file, that would be the easiest. More complicated would be to use a php script and a mysql database for a member area.

    Hi,
One solution would be to create an Intro page, with a 3rd party software and publish your Xara website to a dsignated folder and have intro redirect maybe.

    Welcome to TG Forums Pinep

Please make sure you post to the correct forums.
I have moved your thread to Talk Web > Web Designer / Xtreme

As to a login and password, if your host provides 'cpanel' managment, you can setup a .htaccess for your site from there. This will prompt the visitor for a user name and password.
There are various options available including password protecting single folders, which makes it quite an easy process to protect content from unauthorized eyes.

As these guys said, log into your hosting software, and look for an icon like this.
It will allow you to create a Username and Password for restricting access.

There are third party solutions such as Coffee Cup Software Password Wizard. You can download a free trial copy and see if it works. There are also some free scripts and some shareware or pay solutions. Do a Google search for password protect websites.

This is surely a cinch and Serif Web Plus X2 and X4 offers many features that XWD lacks. By the way, I have purchased both software and am happy with Serif Web Plus X 2 and 4

As others have said there is no "easy" way with Xara but then again it is not designed to handle this kind of thing.

What are you trying to achieve? ie what kind of site, membership or one time payment to content? Ther are loads of great scripts out there that will handle everything for you that you can run back end on the site.

Give us a clue and maybe we can help you a bit more
