Default White halo round exported fig/jpg in the new 5.1

Just upgraded from 4.1Pro to 5.1Pro, and now getting a white halo round exported gif and jpg images - didnt do this in 4.1Pro.
Got a whole pixel rectangle 400pix high x 10pix wide, with a gradient fill, exported both as jpg and gif. The image is repeated horizontally when on the website, but has a faint white line between each repeat.
If I open the same file with 4.1Pro - then export - no white halo, then with 5.1Pro get the white halo.
I am aware of the fix where the image is parts of pixels wide, or where there are curves - to use a similar colour page background - but this should not be required here.
    Please advise, thanks.

    Hi Len,

Can you post an example or two of images with the white halo?

If I view the 5.1 image at 2000%, it has a banded gradient to the left and right near the left and right edges, the 4.1 image is smooth all the width, and smooth gradient top to bottom.
Export settings are the same for 4.1 and 5.1: quality 100%, anti-alias: minimise visible antialias, DPI 96, 300x10pix, true colour.

I can see the area for the images, but no images display. Perhaps you could upload them again?

Len I have imported both of your jpg files and zoomed to 4000% and cannot see any difference between them.

Here's an example of the problem using the images, i have had this problem also and can't find a fix or workaround so far.

On the top image you can see the banding around the exported image but the second image is fine.

    Soquili, Bill

There is a real difference, the one on the left has a wavy line round the top and is lighter at the side edges. The one on the right (which must be the4.1 version) has consistent colour left to right.

Jaff, your graphic is exactly the result on the website with the 2 images posted.

The workround today is use 4.1Pro, which is still on my PC, not ideal when I've got 5.1 installed as well.

I have run into this issue before. When using true color+alpha, I get the visible line, and when using just true color, the line drops away. Strange but true. I know you say you are using true color, but I didn't think that the +alpha would have an affect at the time either. Just a thought.
