The new Xara Xtreme 5 (for international user)

Hello everybody.


I received 4 days ago a mail that announced that the new Xara Xtreme 5 was launched. I was "OK" to get the new version, as I thought to it a few weeks before (to get Internet possibilities)...

In my mail I have this Xara advert :
Xara Xtreme 5 New: $89 or €69 inc VAT in the EU
Xara Xtreme 5 Upgrade: Starting from just $24 (€19 inc VAT in EU) for owners of V4 and Web Designer, $39 (€29) for owners of Xtreme 4 only, $59 (€45) for older versions.



But in reality the price are different when I get the french Xara page (given in the mail) : http://www.xara.com/fr/products/xtreme/upgrade

Here they are :
Xtreme Pro 4 -> €59
MAGIX Xtreme Photo & Graphic Designer 1 -> €169
MAGIX Xtreme Photo & Graphic Designer 2 -> €149
Other Xtreme (I have X1) -> €139

But the worst is the fact that the french page propose an upgrade to the Xara Xtreme PRO 4, and not the 5 one !



I can't reach the US page, always sent back to the french page...
Could someone give me the real price in US, and how to get the US pages also ?

Soquili thanks for the links but the prices offered via the website ($69-£49) are nothing like the prices quoted in the email we received. I've used Xara for years and gone through a few upgrades, never come across this confusion or lack of response before though. It's a shame as Xara just keeps getting better with each incarnation.

Clearly the French site has not been updated to reflect the new release.

I also notice how the box shot shows the MAGIX Logo on a products named 'Xara Xtreme PRo 4'.. I assume the Xara branding only applies to the US, Canada, UK and Australia/NZ while MAGIX own Europe.

This may confuse TG members who may assume there's a difference

Clicking the Xara Web Designer logo link bottom right of the page at the French site, takes you to a /webstyle URL where the page is broken and incomplete.

there is a note that advises that if you are upgrading from ver 3 or 4 no manual will be included.

So the question now is, when will Gary's book be available ?

I'm sorry not to answer quicker : my alert didn't work and I thought there was no answer to my post ! : )

Actually I understood better 2 days after I post. The 59€ announced for the upgrade is in fact an upgrade for the non pro v5 of Xtreme.

Indeed there is a link to get the v5 (and not the v4) if you jump to the US version of the web site (I didn't get the flag on top was a link to international xara website at first, my fault...).



I made a try with the simple v5 at the moment... Very good.
