Why can you convince people to use flash,as it is now index-able by search-engines.
    Or to use css
Or some other color scheme or whatever.

You as the designer and producer of their site

But you cannot convince them of using other software as dicussed in other thread or that some standard thingies aren't that important.

Well sometimes their budget is low and XWD would fit the bill nicely otherwise. I'm glad you have such faith in my power of persuasion - it's not working on John (covoxer) though..

But that's because he has the stuff in his vains
Don't you agree to the fact that the adobe/MS standard needs to be broken through and make people aware of the fact that things can get easyer with other software that doesn't cost that much but can achieve the same or even better results.

This H1 business has nothing to do with M$ or Adobe - it's about what people feel is important for search engines (whether it really is or not).

The H1 question has also nothing to do with John (covoxer) and if he has has something in his vains (or not...).

It has maybe something to do with SEO, but much more with following Web Standards and using semantically meaningful HTML tags.

I really wish, we could start to discuss this without falling back into wrong arguments.

If you want it, and they pay your for it why don't you satisfy their request? You CAN use H1 or whatever else elements with placeholders. It may be not WYSIWYG but you are paid for it so just do it and don't lie to your cliens that you can't do it in XWD. If you want to transfer all your client requests on Xara, then resulting product will become much more expensive thus making your prices for designs made with it much higher finally ending up with something that you already have but your clients can't afford.

There is no HTML in XWD. There is no HTML semantics in XWD. You work with XWD design and WEB semantics.
On the other hand - if you are experienced enough to understand and create high quality HTML, you shouldn't use XWD for a resulting product, only for prototyping.
Once again - XWD is not there to compete by the HTML code quality with professional web design specialists. It is impossible. And if it was possible, such a product would cost about 10 times more than the most expensive web authoring tool.
If you've got a microwave oven you don't expect it to immediately produce food of the restaurant quality. Do you?

John, you are a great developer but miss a lot of points about the way the world works. Some clients have big budgets, some have small. Some care what you use to make their site some don't.

My point about H1 is that I can satisfy the demand by clients for H1 using Dreamweaver or even notepad, however some clients with small budgets insist on H1 tags and I would offer to do the work using XWD if it supported using such elements, but might not bother if it involves dreamweaver.

As for transferring client demands onto Xara, what else would you expect us to do? I am Xaras client and I have a legitimate use for such a facility and I request that Xara implement it. I don't demand that you do so and Xara may wish to continue to ignore these requests (not just by me) as they see fit.

I don't care much for the suggestion that I lie to clients about XWD (or anything else). XWD won't even make it into the conversation with a client. Sometimes it feels as though I am making some kind of personal attack by talking about H1 tags and I don't understand why that should be the case. This is polite conversation, not an onslaught.
