Default layers shown

I am working on a web site for an architect and I am working on the photo galleries of the projects he has done. So the question is:

He has a large box retail client that he wants to be shown default when you go into that page and then when you click on the other clients, he wants only those photos to show. I have all of the photos on different popup layers (is that right?) and I am working on getting those to be linked to the text. But how do I show the "main" client as the default and then make it disappear when the link is clicked?

Put it on the MouseOff Layer. That is the main page when entering site.

So by putting those photos on Mouseoff it will default? What happens when there are more pictures on that layer than on another layer? For example, 6 photos for the mouseoff layer and then 4 on another layer that is not the default client?

I am not sure how many pictures I am going to have yet. But I do know that we have more pictures of some clients than others. I think one only has like 3 pictures for it.

oh I might mention that I am putting these on the side of the page in columns with the popup photo if you click on the picture.
