3D animated text - background problem

My goal is to create animated text that I can use in my website but with no background.
Since my website background is white, I use the Background dropdown menu and use the white color for my background. The view screen shows white.
If my letters are green, when I save the animated graphic, the colors of the letters are shown as the background color.
I am new to this software, so maybe I am doing something wrong. I save the graphic using File, Export animation, saving it in my graphic folder.
When I view the animation with ANY graphic software or when I publish it using FrontPage to my website, I still get the background that I do not want.
How can I get a transparent or white color background and not get the background with the same colors as the text? Please help! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

One more bit of info. I am exporting using the Transparency option.

Welcome to the forum. Could you post an example showing the problem you are having. It would help to identify what could be the problem.
