    Default Upgrade from X1

    Hi guys

I have owned a copy of XARA X1 for a while now, and was just wondering what advantages others have found with the newer Xara Xtreme versions compared to the one I have.

    Is it worth the upgrade?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the TG Forums,

    Very much worth it.

    Here's a list of what's new:

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

Can I also ask what the upgrade process is?

I have managed to remember my login details, so when ordering I can prove that I have an X1 license, so will I have to install X1 and then patch it with a download, or is the install not needed and I simply get a new download and serial number?

    Thanks again.

Just follow the upgrade to Xtreme 4 page instructions.
    It's straight forward.

Just download the trial and install it. It doesn't install over the top of X1 which means you can run the two at the same time to see the differences in action. Once you have purchased Xtreme (and buy Xtreme Pro 4 - it really is the best) you'll get your licence number which you enter as you did for X1.

Then at some point later you'll get your package in the post. Install that over the top of the one you downloaded because some of the patches will only patch CD versions and not the downloads.

Welcome to the world of Xtreme - you won't regret it

whatever you do - don't remove the x1 version - at least not until you are well used to the new one

lots of things have changed, and many of us still go back to earlier version when we want to do something a particular way
