Ive been hearing about these for a long time .... finally getting out but have't seen one. IO read on wacom's site that they provide some pen technology at least for certainmodels but I'm not certain if there are any that are presure sensitive ???
I guess one of the neatest features is the pen writing recognition (if it works ) which could convert hand written words into text information.
Of course if any are pressure sensitive, they would be great for portable drawing pads

Nice, but the question is...who needs one?
are saying that in three years 'notebook' computers won't even be sold - having been replaced by this tablet format.
We'll have to wait and see.
I recently tried a friend's pocketPC and was pleasantly surprised by how good the handwriting character recognition worked. The same system is used in these new windows tablets. I also note that most of these devices support wireless communications. You could have a wireless keyboard and mouse work with one of these tablets if you want.
Before trashing the idea - wait and try one in the stores. You'll be commonly seeing them on display by late spring 2003.
