    Default Transparent Background

How do you export a transparent background? I tried to export a text png file into after effects and there is a white bounding box accompanying the text.

There's a drop-down box for color depth on the "Palette Options" tab of the export dialog box. The first choice is "True Color + Alpha". Did you export with that setting?

Also, I think in most compositing software, you have to do something called "Premultiply Alpha" (Not entirely sure about what it's called). I've never used After Effects, but I think compositing software handles alpha channels differently than programs like Photoshop. You may have to set the premultiply option in After Effects.

I wish I could help more, but I don't do much compositing.

PixelDust: Your suggestion was right on. Can't thank you enough. 1st time around I exported with true colors not + alpha.

I also have some problem with exporting PNG images.

I'd like to export a logo with a transparent background which is greater than the graphics itself. The reason is the positioning in the header of a website template.

I drawn a rectangle on a Guide layer. Then I selected the rectangle and tried to export.
When I select True color+Alpha the image disappears!
Exporting only the graphics (logo text) works, but that is not suitable for me.

Any thoughts how to solve it?

problem is probably that the rectangle is on the guide layer - this is a 'special' layer [see help section]

it will work fine if the rectangle is on the same layer as the logo, or another ordinary layer, as long as it is behind the logo and both are selected.....
