The Poll is open to anyone who has experienced ebay
Hmm - I agree, that the Poll title does suggest a 'No never' option

It turns out that even forum administrators cannot edit polls once in place (to prevent vote manipulation).

My current ebay feedback is something like 328 (been on ebay for a few years now). I mostly buy things but have sold a lot too. Yes, there are rogues, but a lot of good people too.

I've been to ebay on several occasions looking for specific drawing equipment [eg nibs] of the no longer made variety, as a place of last resort.

Each time it was a google link that directed me there, not browsing ebay itself - if its on ebay google will find it if you ask the right question, and it's described right by the seller - else its needle in a haystack anyway whichever way you look at it.

I might be tempted to sell stuff on ebay - but for the sort of kit I would sell [and buy] there are better specialist marts.

On the subject of rogues you get them in all markets on both sides of the stall - caveat emptor and seller too.

Agree about Amazon - I like Amazon.

I was looking for a specific model of cordless phone (now discontinued) with enhanced amplification for my father-in-law, who is hard of hearing. The only place I could find one was a second hand one on eBay. It had no reserve.

I got it for £3 (recommended retail was over £100). The postage cost more than the phone at £4. Admittedly I used a sniper so I therefore was able to wait until the wire before bidding which stopped the only other interested party from driving it up too much.

Presumably the seller (a Scotsman. Just an observation), was expecting a lot more for it as he removed the rechargeable batteries and decided to leave out the required BT adaptor before sending the phone, although he was decent enough to send it direct to my father-in-law.

However the manufacturer sent us a free adaptor and decent pair of new Nicads cost me about a tenner.

All in all, a good as new phone that works brilliantly and still came in at under £20.

I bought a still shrink-wrapped unused full version of Photoshop CS2 for £160 on eBay a year or so back too. So I'm a fan.

    Wasn't refering to my sales.
It does seem like lots of the auctions have prices that
don't exactly look like bargins, though.

You don't have to send the items until the buyer has paid for them .... The risk is all on the buying side ......

I use it a couple of times a year, never had any problems. I pay attention to the seller's record and don't use any that have negative feed backs.

I have only purchased a few items on ebay, but on every occasion the experience was very postive. I have always been amazed by how quickly I receive my purchases.

I pride myself as a buyer and seller with 959 Transactions all at 100%. Member since 11/01/98. 218 of those as a seller. I ship with USPS Priority Mail. Most of my sales and buys has been golf clubs. I will ship same day if at all possible. I try to be the fastest shipper and fastest payer on Ebay using PayPal. I do not put up any barriers to buying, will return if you are not satisfied,(that has not happened). You can pay me with check, MO, or PayPal, no restrictions. I have not lost any money with anybody not paying. Yes I have seen some crooked deals listed. I will assume all risks when I buy and sell.
