basically you shift select the two objects and then either combine shapes [ctrl+1] or join shapes [ctrl+j] - which you use depends...

very good example. Is there a way to save these great hints you guys give me.?

one other, with sight issues, I have a hard time with getting the line color vs the fill color. It is very hit and miss with me. Perhaps there is an easier way that some one has thought of. the movie did not seem to simplify my personal issue- still hit and miss.

thank you very much for you assistance.

    Nancy,

Go to Utilities > Options > On the View Tab, set "Right Click on Colour" to "Set Line Colour". I find it a lot easier to set the line colour that way. As standard right clicking the colour bar brings up a menu and you can choose "set line colour"

I'm assuming at the moment that you are trying to drop a colour on the line?
