Hi,
This logo was made for Atabeira, Artist workshop.
The typestyle resembles the roman lettering found
in old monuments.
Thanks in advance for your helpful comments
and advice.
Have a nice day!

Looks pretty cool.

I would make the outside color dark brown and not black. Dark brown will make the edge of the parchment look old and faded.

That looks good Alejandro. I like Gary's suggestion for the brown.
alejandro,
Sorry but this doesn't work for me.
I don't like the jumbled/swaying text look, it dosen't look Roman to me in any way. I could be wrong but I've never seen Roman text used in this manner. The typestyle resembles the roman lettering found
in old monuments.
I could be completely wrong but it just doesn't say "Roman" to me.

Hi,
Gary, tomorrow, i will test with a shade of brown
and will post the result (an smaller image, this time).
Bramhill, surely you are right.
Checking this page:
http://medievalwriting.50megs.com/scripts/scrindex.htm
it is difficult to find carved inscriptions that look like
this logo, but the style of the typeface used is Roman
(or serif, like is called in many countries).
The organization of lettering is a requisite of the client
and looks more like calligraphy, than a carving of
an antique roman monument.
I want more suggestions to make this look much better!
Many thanks, again, for your helpful comments!
alejandro
Since you asked for suggestions to make it look more like a carved monument...
I have to suggest looking close at the shadow you used for the lettering. the shadowing makes the lettering look like they are standing up off the stone, not carved into it. I would suggest something more like the attached.
The first plaque is just three versions of my name. One for the shadow, another for the highlight and the top one for the cut letters.
the second plaque is just the the top copy sliced and diced from the other two. Take a look at the watermark video in the help. It shows you step by step how to do it.
I also attached the .xar so you can see how I did it.

This version shows the recommended changes,
for a nice subtle effect.
Many thanks for your suggestions and i will
keep working on diverse variations of this
carved effect.

Massive improvement, Alejandro, well done!
Saludos,
Bob.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx.
Now that looks cool Alejandro.
