I'm not too bothered, it's not a method I ever use. FastStone Capture is always at-the-ready for me![]()
Good find!
Here's my take on the situation:
- Windows 2000-SP4
- Xara Xtreme Pro 3.24
- Firefox 2.0.0.14
Shift-drag from FF2 straight into Xtreme Pro 3.24 leads to the "file empty" warning
Shift-drag from FF2 to the task-bar and next into the Xtreme Pro 3.24 window works perfect :-)

I am the same as sledger doesn't work in FF but I noticed if you drag an image straight on to xara title bar from a webpage it will open. Here is a neat add on for FF Fireshot...t

I think Stephan found the difference.
If I tile a FF window and an Xtreme window side by side and drag from FF into Xtreme, I do finally get the "file empty" warning.
However, if I do as I always do, shift+drag, hover over Xtreme on the task bar until it pops up, then drop into Xtreme it works like a charm.
Perhaps that's the difference Sledger.
Seems the Xtreme window has to have focus before you can drop the image into it.
Nope, that doesn't work for me in Vista. I just get the resource URL.
However, doing as Tao suggested works fine.
That is, drag and drop image onto Xtreme 'title' bar. No shift required.
In XP Pro, dragging to the taskbar icon thendropping into Xtreme when it pops into focus give the error shown below.
Amazing how many different reports this thread is generating..
For the record I'm talking XtremePro 4 here![]()
RedWombats method works fine for me. XP & FF2.0 (I was only beta testing the FF5 SteveHowever, if I do as I always do, shift+drag, hover over Xtreme on the task bar until it pops up, then drop into Xtreme it works like a charm.)

I get the error you show Steve, but only if I don't have a new document open.
If I have a new document open, it works really well.
I also am using XtremePro 4.
This is an interesting thread.
I try to avoid Copy & Paste (or Drag & Drop), because of the increased bitmap sizes of such images (2.320 KB with Copy & Paste vs. 85 KB with Save As/Import).
