How do I set or change the page background? The default colour is white.

Press CTRL as you drag a colour onto the page. Same in the bitmap gallery. The background button in the gallery doesn't seem to work.

You select the color gallery from the toolbar. Then select the color that you want and then click the background button.
This button works fine. It also works from the bitmap gallery if you would like to use a bitmap for a background.

It works from the colour gallery, but are you sure that works from the bitmap gallery? If I try it, it just drops the bitmap onto the page, not the background.

    Hi Keith
It worked for me. Here is a file that has the bitmap for the page background.

(IDIOT ..... Smack on head ........)

Sorry Bruce, The background button in the Bitmap gallery works fine ... It's the background button in the Fill gallery that doesn't work!

For bitmap backgrounds, I use the same method as you do for changing the page b/g from the colour line - that is; Ctlr+Drag from the clipart gallery

*note: first set your page size accordingly, unless you are ok with a tiled image for the b/g.

If you import a fill or hit the background button then the fill is placed in the document. Now that fill is also in the bitmap gallery and you can now go into the bitmap gallery and click background and your page will then have the background of the fill.

Right, but wouldn't it be easier if the button worked.
