    Default Xeus Features in XXPro4

Some time ago John Horn (covoxer) made a plugin (Xeus) available which let you do specific bitmap manipulations, such as recolor and retouch bitmaps.

    See here: http://xeus.nm.ru/products.dhtml

    And mini tutorials 02 & 04 here: http://xeus.nm.ru/tutorials.dhtml

I don't believe it is compatible with newer versions of Xtreme.

Does XXPro4's new bitmap capabilities give you anything like this???

Hmmm, I am getting nothing but a gray background on both of those links.

    See thread:
    http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=18616

Xeus was developed for XaraX1 and older versions. It does not work very well with new XPE base plug-in handling mechanism.
So yes there are some problems with this.

Right. My question was if any of those capabilities are now a part of Xtreme with it's improved bitmap handling, or alternatively, are there other plug-ins that would accomplish the same thing...

Right sorry - I did have a screenshot available when I posted last but was distracted.

I've not been able to find a copy of Xeus to compare directly, but it reads as though there are some 'painting' tools which Xtreme doesn't currently have, though the majority of Xeus is satisfied with the newer LE's (see screenshot) and the parts of XPE which are now-built in to Xtreme4's photo tool.
Xara plans are to drop XPE altogether once full integration is complete.

I still have xeus installed and- runing under xtreme X1

But I'll need to go back and refresh the old memory - not used it in quite a while [xeus that is ]

Mine is working better as a forgetery than a memory some times!
(though I can't remember why I think so..)

If you get Xeus running lets us know. Although purely academic (being as it won't work under any Xtreme versions) I'd be interested in knowing how it compares

I never got it to work under any version of xtreme - I think xhris said it might work under certain condition - but I was happy to leave it in x1 where it works well

autopilot - I'm on it most of the time myself

xeus as far as the help file states was intended to introduce pixel based editing into xara x1

in a nutshell this means editing a bitmap by cloning/stamping and/or drawing color and pattern with a brush

I'd say this is certainly covered mostly if not completely by the magix editor supplied with xara - although there are differences in the way the programs work of course....

only had time for a quick look.....
