Help With A Red Globe For Rudolph's Nose

Hi there,

A friend of mine asked me to make a red glowing bulb she could use as a nose for Rudolph. I have attached my attempt, anyone got any better suggestions or improvements. Would appreciate it.

I cannot get the globe to appear more round or 3d or more like an eclectic red globe. I have attached the Xara file view, improve my attempt.

ANOTHER PROBLEM - - - when i export it as a PNG with a transparent background, the glow seems to be "muted" a bit and has lost its "redness", I then tried as a GIF but it gives me a solid white background even though there was a check in the transparent box? Any ideas??
