format for making background images

I am trying to turn an image into a background which could be used on a website. Can someone tell me what the trick is....so you get one nice image and not 150 tiled images in the back

Search under seamless tile for this forum and you will most likely find your answer.

When you make your background, just use that one tile and your background will appear to fill in a seamless manner.
