Oh, so now we're supposed to abbreviate the program's name to a whopping MXP&GD?
Unacceptable! Xara should immediately end their relations with Magix!
(joking!!!)
lets hope we don't end up calling the pro version MAXX-P

Here's the link from the mailing Magix sent to me today:

Wow, that is disappointing.
I'm surprised to see that they are ditching the Xara name entirely.
With that they are walking away from the Xara name recognition, brand loyalty and goodwill.
If I were to see that product on the store shelf I would think that is was just one of a million Also- ran photo editor programs and not give it another thought.

Looks like the interface is the same as Xara Xtreme. Will there be a possibility for Xara Xtreme users to upgrade?
I like their Video Editor. I think it's called Magix Video Editor 12. Has a huge amount of features all for $59.00 US. I like the slide show ability to turn it into flash. Although, I wish it would allow the import of Flash or Video as overlays. Didn't see that mentioned anywhere.
Not sure if anyone else noted, but evidently one can get a free Blog site. My be interesting for folks who want to post their stuff (including pics and flash I think.)
It's a free blog, might try it.

I think I've mentioned before, but the big picture is that Magix will be selling, under their brand, low-end versions of Xara Xtreme - of which this is the first. Yes they believe in long product names!
Xara brand will be going more up-market. i.e Xara Xtreme Pro will remain a Xara branded product and will be enhanced.
However there is about to be an upgrade to Xara Xtreme (probably the last - after that it will be a Magix branded version) that will incorporate the new features that have been developed for the Magix version. And we'll be doing an upgrade to Pro at the same time (again incorporating the improvements done to the Magix release).
Thanks Charles - look with interest to the forthcomming pro release

Not heard any more since Charles said an announcement would be made in May, which ties in with the April 'Outsider'.
Maybe in May's edition?
