    Hi Egg.

    Many thanks. You're spot on.

The bearings act as helicopter main routes (HMR). The ones you see arrowed in the jpg are inbound (to Aberdeen). They are interlaced with the outbound HMRs (more visible on the .xar file). So the separation is 3 degrees between out and inbound routes. Not sure why 3 was the amount chosen - that was decided a long time ago. Probably they took a proper aeronautical chart and played around with a protractor and a ruler until they came up with a "spacing" that looked workable.

Hope you got to sleep eventually ;-)

Great variety of styles and subjects this month.

    Frank

    Thanks Frank,

My first thoughts were why arent they done in 5 degree units, but of course this would put the return routes as half a degree and a bit messy.

Buttons seem to be in favour at the moment. Up and over state for an email button. Part XXPro and part Xara3D.

This is an old drawing I did a few years back. I thought I'd revisit it and add some figures which weren't on the original. I've added the soldiers and the dog. Quite pleased with the additions.

    Fabulous clipart!
Possibly showing my age here, but your cartoon work is very reminiscent of The Katzenjammer Kids created by Rudolph Dirks, although I don't go back as far as their debut in 1897!
    Really enjoy your work.

    Default Overexposure?

Not much Xara in this, but I was working through the tips in the latest Xara Outsider on cropping bitmaps. I added a feather to the ellipse and a blend and drop shadow to the text, and matched the background to that of the forum.
Hope I don't offend any sensitive souls with this shot of our "flashing" cat!
