Default Do you regularly use a mobile/cell phone camera?

With the announcement of huge drops in profits for many photographic retailers, how much of this is due to the popularity of mobile/cell phone cameras?

Anyone can post in this thread and vote in the poll, even if you're not registered. But registering is recommended.

I recently went to an Eric Clapton concert and there were a lot of people taking photos with their phones. So I think that the mobile phone cameras have a bit of an effect due to the casual users.

I don't use my cell phone camera 'regularly', only to document damage to a computer or other network equipment. Fortunately I have only used it twice in the past 4 years.

    Hi:
Y' know I don't often think about using it and also the fact that the pictures taken are less than 1 megapixel. They look good as wallpaper and screensavers on the phone itself, after I pull 'em off and tweak them. I have a better camera for general photography and use that much more.

I had to go to a lot of trouble to buy a phone without a camera. They are a waste of time and many workplaces will not permit entry of a camera phone. I had a camera with video/still etc and only had occasion to try to use it once. The pictures were not usable.

If you want to take pictures buy a camera!

Yuck - waste of time... I could only see using my camera phone in case of an emergency, like documenting an accident

As a spy I find I frequently have a need to use my phone camera to record top secret documents etc.

I also have a high resolution camera built into my belt buckle.

Well, the camera on my phone is 3Mp, so I often use it because I have it with me and it takes reasonable pictures. My older phone had a 1.3Mp camera and that was well used as well. Neither camera is as good as a deicated camera, but the advantage is I'm almost always carrying it.
