I wouldn't pick any of the two.

No. 1 is just stretched out version of No.2 and it looks distorted beacuse it was not resized properly.
2 looks ok.
If these are to be used for a web site, then I think that they are both too big in area ,and file size.
I would try to keep the total file size to about 20k.

I think its the second one, its much clearer than the first. The length of the first image is not good.
