    Default Error Message in Pro

Using the latest XXPro, I was doing the XaraXone Tutorial here:

    http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook01/page_4.htm

When I got to the stage of adding an inner bevel to the text(Step 7), I got an error message that reads:

    "Internal program error 797.k.no.xt"

Edit Update: When I close XXP and restart, load the saved .xar again, everything is fine-the text is there, so is the bevel. Could that Error be a memory leak?

Doug I wasn't able to duplicate the error. I'm using the January 17th download version 3.0.2.781 DL.

Same version I have. I've never seen that error before. Who knows-maybe Charles knows about it? <shrug>

    Cheers

If something produces the same error message every time you do it, it's a bug. If it only does it occassionally, it's a feature

Did you try this again? And were you able to recreate this more than one time?

Bill - Chateau Santa Fe? In Santa Fe it would more likely be Casa de Santa Fe

I plead old timer's disease and exposure to too many languages

I'm lucky I don't speak that mish mash of languages that Edward James Olmos' character in Blade Runner spoke

    Thank you Mr. Gates!

Regardless, the error message happened. What caused it? Damned if I know what I might have done-or what XXP might have done.
    Whatever-there's the error message <shrug>

Bill - Chateau Santa Fe? In Santa Fe it would more likely be Casa de Santa Fe
Maybe THAT was my problem- I used Chateau Whistler

Were you, or were you not able to reproduce it by following the tutorial again? If you were able to, it will be much easier to figure out what the fundamental problem is. If you weren't, it will be much more difficult, as it will have probably occurred because of a series of events that you did in addition to those stated in the tutorial. Knowing if it is reproduceable, and the steps that it take to reproduce it is a great help in figuring out bugs such as these. If you can give the Xara team a way to reproduce such a bug, they have shown themselves to be very keen on getting them fixed.

Yes, I am well aware of that. The trouble and point is that at this point I can't reproduce it, because I didn't record every microscopic step that I did or didn't do.

The point is I DO have the error message and was making it known. (See first post in this thread.)

Still the error generated "Internal program error 797.k.no.xt " obviously means something unless it was generated at random!

Next time I just won't bother reporting any error!

I'm sorry. You never answered the question in your response to Gary. You have now answered it. Thanks. Keep posting.
