Thread: Tangled Up...

    Default Tangled Up...

Some recent knots and braids posts inspired these. Just trying to tie up some loose ends before the year ends...

    Good work.
    Love the second one.

    .
The first one was a trial pic to figure out how to overlap beveled objects over and under each other. The second was actually easier since the steps were clearer for me. It could become addicting, trying to make the patterns more and more complex. Maybe some more when and if I can find the free time.

Wow, while you are braiding away, could you make me one of those hot pretzels sold at malls? I love those. Too much to eat, but very delicious.

    Love the effect.

(BTW, I like mine with salt.)

Wow... love those knots Gman... is this making use of zmerge?

Looking forward to the next set

No, I wish it was that simple. But z merge merges things too evenly. This was basically done by cutting up the loop in non-crossing segments. After applying the 3D effect, the vector objects are converted to image objects, duplicated and the uppermost duplicates were erased at the appropriate places. Erasing also takes care of the bevels on the ends of the segments. Just have to make sure the segments have enough overlaps so they blend into each other smoothly.
Call me pretzel brain, Sally. I had the knot but couldn't decide on how to present it. Great idea from you! Thanks.

Well "Pretzel Brain", you left the brain out. Great presentation, can almost smell how good it is, looks freshly baked.

Sorry for being AWOL for too long. Post holidays blues seemed to have lingered a bit longer than expected. Highs and lows. Just have to go with the flow. Can't work up anything until now. I lurked, but didn't even have the energy to join in the discussions.
Mushrooms are hard to braid, believe me...

    Hi G_Man!

'Tis worth your absence to have the pleasure of welcoming you back - especially when you return with such a drawing.

It is a lovely piece of work!
