Hopefully the picture says it all.
I created a logo, but had to convert it to solid shapes - I've don this by slicing.
Problem is, the slicing was not exact!
Any suggestion around this?

My guess is that the line you used for the slicing was too thick. Try a thinner line, type in a very small size, like .1 or .05.

You might have hit on something, all my objects have no line thickness - I'll try it with a very thin line.

Hi Turan,
Did you give your shapes a no colour outline or an outline of none?
Right clicking the cross-hatch box on the colour line is 'no colour' outline.
Using the Set Line Width drop down and selecting None usually works best for me.

Yet again well spotted - its set to no colour, rather than no thinkness!
Going to try it now.
Turan
Sorry, no. All shapes had a line of none already - as well as a colour of none.
I tried setting the line thinkness to 0.05 but the slice was identical :-(
Now the central object which is at the core of slicing all the other objects is the dark blue shape (the wave). I created this item by drawing a line, giving it a profile and then converting the line to a shape. I don't know if doing all that messes up slices?

I even tried the following:
I notice that if the line is None and I apply a line colour it defaults to a line of 0.25. BUT if I set the line to say 0.05 then set it to None, the next time I apply a line colour it sets that new line colour to 0.05!!
So I though that maybe it applies a line thinkness last applied during a slice!
So I tried that also and it did not work.

Then I tried seting the default line to None - again in case during the process of a slice it actually applied a line to it - again no :-(

Turan which version are you using, X¹ or Xtreme? I'll make some tests using the same version you have.

I'm interesting in seeing how this turns out. I've noticed this myself in some instances, but I always assumed that it was just slight math rounding issues involved in the slicing operation that caused it.
Usually I just zoom in a bit and use the shape editor to nudge the edges closer together, but I'd be much happier if I could perform the slice in such a way that that wasn't needed.
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.
Xtreme - although I did run up X1 for the first time in a long time as the printer wanted pantone colours! First time I ever saw dust fall of a Start->Programs menu before :-)
Vector means scaling does not matter but I even zoomed into and then also scaled the object to see if it made a difference.
Odat - I use slicing a lot but never saw this - not saying it never happened, I just never noticed it. I would as you say nudge things a bit, but (a) slice should do the job and (more importantly) (b) the printer has asked for seperate shapes so manually doing it could lead to overlaps again!
